Starting off on the wrong foot

So, I started off on the wrong foot, but I’m bound to get back into step with this blog. Let me get you up to speed on what is going on in my life…

I currently am working full-time as the Corporate Communications Intern at GuideOne Insurance in West Des Moines, IA. I am thoroughly enjoying the diversity of work I have here, ranging from press releases to collateral creation, even creating a Wikipedia page for the company!

I recently left my part-time job as a registered pharmacy technician at Costco Pharmacy because of personal reasons. I need to have some “Danielle” time outside of work, and I also need to start preparing for the LSATs, which would both be eaten up by the six-day-a-week work schedule I had. I love the pharmaceutical industry and all of its idiosyncrasies, but this is why I am going to pursue healthcare law in law school in the fall of 2010.

…but more on this stuff later…

So ready or not, I’m taking slow steps forward into my future. Hopefully it serves me well.

* These shoes are the same kind, but the colors are different: brown with gold and red straps. (Honestly some of the most comfortable shoes I own!)

Early morning

So it's 6:24 a.m. and I am sitting in last night's clothing ... but at least they're comfortable!  Off to my internship in an hour, before which I will obviously change clothes (casual Friday, woo!) and during which I will be ingesting my 9 oz. coffee - 3 oz. hot chocolate - 2 sweet n' low coffee concoction and a large mug of Diet Mountain Dew (I love caffeine).

I am going shopping in the afternoon today for supplies for the GuideOne company picnic on Tuesday. Shoes for the day ... I'm guessing flats for the walking, but it may be my tried-and-true moccasin wedges.  I will update ...

And so it begins...

So I have decided to start a blog ... I actually tried one a while ago and realized I had nothing to say, but I am going to try it again anyway. I will do my best to chronicle my life and put you in my size 6, pointy-toed stilettos. Wish me luck.
